Nick Olson

Nick Olson is a strategy and operations leader with more than a decade of experience guiding organizations through complex change, spanning federal consulting, corporate analytics, and IT program delivery. He brings a distinctive blend of analytical rigor and people-centered leadership, having worked with federal agencies such as the VA, DoD, and SEC.


As a federal contractor, Nick developed and managed multi-million dollar financial models to track workload, labor rates, and total costs for fixed-price and labor-hour based contracts. Nick excels at translating ambiguous organizational challenges into structured programs. He is equally comfortable presenting to C-suite executives as he is rolling up his sleeves with cross-functional teams. His work sits at the intersection of process improvement, data-informed decision-making, and the human side of transformation, with a growing focus on how AI and emerging technology are reshaping how organizations operate and deliver value.


Before going to Maryland's Smith School of Business, Nick worked in the film industry in New York City. His credits include the movies World Trade Center, The Good Shepherd, Lady in the Water, and A Love Letter for You; commercials for Häagen-Dazs, MTV, Nickelodeon, Hershey's, Coke, Sirius Satellite Radio; and music videos for Counting Crows and Kelly Clarkson.
